Freedom Festival releases dates for the 2012 festival & issues call for affiliated events

Cedar Rapids, IA (January 23, 2012) Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival today released their dates for the 2012 summer festival. The festival will be held June 21st to July 4th.

Along with the official dates, the festival has issued its annual invitation for “Affiliated” events to be included as part of Freedom Festival 2012. Last year’s festival included nearly 100 affiliated events produced by some 50 local organizations.

“Affiliated events are crucial to the Freedom Festival because they offer a wider variety of events that would not be possible otherwise. The festival enjoys partnering up with local organizations to increase community involvement and quality of life,” noted Jennifer Siefken, Events and Programs Director for the Freedom Festival.  “We anticipate another excellent line-up of events and look forward to showcasing the local organizations in the area in 2012.”

Organizations or individuals wanting to produce an affiliated event during Freedom Festival 2012 should contact the festival office at 319.365.8313, or contact Jennifer Siefken at jennifer@freedomfestival.com .  The deadline for affiliated event applications is February 3, 2012.
