Environmental Efforts Program

Managing the trash generated during Freedom Festival's events is a significant task. With this challenge comes a great opportunity to put forth effective environmental efforts, while educating others.

Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency has been a steadfast sponsor of Freedom Festival efforts to to divert a significant amount of trash from the landfill and to raise awareness of the need and ease of recycling.

Those efforts continue in 2008, and we encourage all Festival patrons to take just a moment to place any trash they generate in the appropriate trash receptacles throughout the various venues. Freedom Festival volunteers will be available to assist with selection of the appropriate receptacle if there is a question.

And please remember, trash management is a year-round effort for everyone.
