Classic Rock Concert Night

Friday, June 18, 2010

Sponsored by Mediacom and Veridian Credit Union

Media Partners:  KDAT, KRQN, KMRY

Venue Update:  Due to wet ground conditions caused by recent rains the Classic Rock Concert Night venue has been moved slightly on the Kirkwood Campus.  The concert and all seating will be on the concrete parking lot next to Johnson Hall.  This venue adjustment allows for greater flexibility should there be rain prior to the concert.  It will allow the concert to proceed even if it rains and then stops a few minutes before the concert is scheduled to begin.

Classic rock music comes alive again during Freedom Festival 2010 presented by the Gazette Family of Companies with another outstanding double-treat on Friday, June 18.  This year’s concert, sponsored by Mediacom and Veridian Credit Union, features headliner Peter Cetera and an opening performance by Jimi Jamison.

Continuously acclaimed as one of the Top 10 male vocalists, Jimi Jamison and his band deliver a powerful live performance.  The former singer of the Grammy Award winning rock group Survivor has sung on many Top 10 hits including “The Search Is Over,” “High on You,” and “Burning Heart.”  In concert Jamison performs all the hits of Survivor, including the #1 smash hit “Eye of the Tiger” from Rocky III and “I’m Always Here,” the song he co-wrote and sang for the TV show Baywatch.
