Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival’s Board of Directors executive committee has been named for 2008. Serving as the Festival’s executive committee are:
- president, Sharlynn Page, Villages of Marion;
- vice-president, Heather Akers, GE Capital;
- treasurer, John Mallet, AEGON USA;
- secretary, Mark Hixson, Business Solutions Group; and,
- immediate past president, Jerry Dietz, Weyerhaeuser.
George Ford, Business Editor, The Gazette, has also returned to the Board of Directors. Freedom Festival previously announced the election of five new members to its Board of Directors. New members include: Richie Akers, Clipper Windpower, Inc.; Bill Burns, Cedar River Paper Co.; Erika Elles, Cargill, Inc.; Jim O’Haire, Toyota Financial Services; and, Kari Stillman, Priority One.
Ann Virden has joined the festival as Community Relations Manager. Ann was the Festival’s Community Relations Assistant intern during Freedom Festival 2007.
Dates for Freedom Festival 2008 are June 19 through July 4. Freedom Festival celebrates its 25th year in 2008.
