Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival issues
Cedar Rapids, IA – February 15, 2008 – Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival today issued a call for 2008 Freedom Festival Parade Entries. The parade is scheduled for June 28, 2008 to begin at 9:00 AM. The traditional parade route will be followed, traveling along 2nd and 3rd Avenues and finishing at Greene Square Park.
Entry forms will be sent to many local organizations, with additional forms available at the Freedom Festival office, 226 2nd Street SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401, or online at www.freedomfestival.com. All entry forms must be completed and returned to the Festival office by Noon, May 23, 2008. Please return forms as early as possible. “Hold on Tight to Your Dreams” is the 2008 Freedom Festival Parade Theme. The particular focus is on the dreams of young and old alike that stir our patriotic enthusiasm. All vehicles and groups must convey a festive and patriotic motif. Commercial and business entries are limited to one vehicle per entry.
Entry fees are: $20 for non-profit organizations, $50 for commercial, businesses, or non-public safety governmental organizations, and $65 for political campaign entries. Military, veterans, and public safety groups are exempt from any fee.
