Fire & Ice Festival


Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival and the Cedar Rapids Downtown District are teaming up again this year to produce the 4th Annual Fire & Ice Festival. This year’s festival will be December 7.

Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival will heat up the afternoon and evening with the 4th annual Fire & Ice Chili Challenge from 3 – 7:30 pm, in the Armstrong Building Food Court. The Chili Challenge will feature the culinary delights of some of the areas best chili makers, as well as offer hot dogs, hot chocolate and cookies. The Challenge is sponsored by the Quality Chef Foods, a Division of Heinz.

Don’t eat and run – the 25th annual Cedar Rapids Lighted Holiday ParadeHoliday DeLight.”  The parade, which begins at 6:00 pm, promises another dazzling display of holiday splendor.  Specifics of parade route in downtown Cedar Rapids are still pending.

And there’s even more. The festivities continue as Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival again lights up the evening sky at 7:30 pm with another dazzling fireworks display on Mays Island, with fireworks courtesy of Rockwell Collins.
