Captain Timothy Platz
Captain Timothy Platz reported to Fleet Surgical Team Seven in Okinawa, Japan where he served as the team’s surgeon from 2008-2010. Following fellowship, Captain Platz reported back to NMC Portsmouth as a staff surgical oncologist and general surgeon. In December 2013 he reported to Camp Pendleton and deployed to Camp Leatherneck/Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan from January through August 2014. CAPT Platz subsequently returned to NMC Portsmouth where he was selected Associate Program Director (APD) for the General Surgery training program, Chair of the Medical Records Review Committee (MRRC) and surgical team leader . CAPT Platz’s awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards) and the Meritorious Service Medal. He is a Surface Warfare Medical Department Officer and Fleet Marine Force qualified.
