Events are the lifeline of the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival! We are optimistically planning programming for our 2021 Festival, but are not ready to announce the full calendar just yet.
Festival staff and Board of Directors are actively monitoring the current events climate and will have the utmost focus on safety and how we can safely provide programming that will be in line with our mission: to celebrate the quality of life in Eastern Iowa by providing safe, affordable and fun annual events that embody the spirit of patriotism and a sense of community and family.
Thank YOU for your continued support and loyalty to the Freedom Festival! While our 2021 Festival might look and feel a bit differently than what you’re used to, we can’t wait to celebrate with you in June & July!
Be sure to “LIKE” and follow us on Facebook for special festival announcements and programming: https://www.facebook.com/CRFreedomFestival
Come downtown Cedar Rapids for the Freedom Festival's Celebration of Freedom! The 4th of July and fireworks are what the Festival was founded upon. With that in mind, we set out to make sure we could get the very best fireworks show possible.
The Freedom Festival has grown to offer the Corridor the largest fireworks display in Iowa on the 4th of July! Sit back and enjoy the music of today and yesterday's hits while we put on the show of the year. The fireworks show is choreographed by J&M Displays.
A HUGE THANK YOU to our fireworks sponsor, Green State Credit Union, and the Linn County Supervisors.
Activities on the bridges include: Face Painting, Balloon Artist, lots of delicious food and beverages, music, Bungee Trampolines, Inflatable Zone for all ages, military vehicles and exhibits, and so much more!
WHERE CAN I SIT TO HAVE THE BEST VIEW?
The fireworks display will be shot off the 1st Avenue bridge. The 2nd Ave Bridge is the best viewing area and the concert at The McGrath Amphitheatre (All FREE with a Freedom Festival button).
Parking facility rooftops will be available for firework viewing. No grilling, fireworks, or alcohol will be allowed in the facilities at any time. For additional questions call 319-365-7275.
PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT THIS EVENT. SPARKLERS, FIRECRACKERS OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF FIREWORKS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, BUT IT IS FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL ATTENDEES.
