Heroes Nominations

One of our long-standing signature events is the Tribute to Heroes Ceremony. This event recognizes the amazing heroes and individuals that have made positive contributions to our community! DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS: Friday, April 1^st, 2022.

Three (3) Heroes will be selected from all nominations—this year’s honorees will be notified via phone by the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival staff. He or she will be our honored guest and will receive recognition and an award at the Tribute to Heroes Event on Friday, June 17^th, 2022 at The Hotel at Kirkwood. Additionally, the honorees will act as Grand Marshalls for the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival Parade on Saturday, June 25^th, 2022.

Nomination forms must be completed online or returned to the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival’s Office: 609 1^st Ave SW, Suite 102, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405, no later than Friday, April 1^st, 2022.

Welcome

Each year thousands of Eastern Iowa residents and visitors join together to celebrate our nation’s birthday by enjoying the many events and activities of the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival. More than 400,000 area residents and visitors attend the Freedom Festival each year. The Freedom Festival begins in June and culminates with the annual Celebration of Freedom Fireworks on July 4th.
