The Freedom Festival’s Military Tribute Banner Program honors the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving our country. These full-color banners proudly display the name, photo, and branch of each honoree. Families and friends can sponsor a banner to recognize their hero, with each banner serving as a heartfelt reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom. Join us in celebrating the legacy of those who protect and serve.

Honor A Veteran Fund: Looking to recognize a local veteran? The Honor A Veteran Fund helps ensure every hero has the opportunity to be recognized, regardless of financial circumstances. This fund provides Military Tribute Banners to veterans who may not be able to afford their own, ensuring their service is still honored in the community. This fund also offers a way for individuals who may not personally know a veteran to sponsor a banner for a local hero. Through this fund, supporters can help celebrate the dedication, bravery, and sacrifice of veterans who deserve to be celebrated and appreciated.

Banners will be displayed on select light poles throughout downtown Cedar Rapids during the summer. Banners will also be displayed inside Veterans Memorial Coliseum downtown Cedar Rapids on Veterans Day. (Recipient has the option to receive their banner at the end of the outdoor display period or after Veterans Day.) Banners are sold on first come, first serve basis. (max 50 banners available)

Banner Details: double-sided, full color, 96"H x 29"W, and custom-made with the name, years of service, nominee, and the image of the honoree (provided by the applicant). Each banner is $250. This covers design, purchase, installation, and maintenance of the banner.
