Supporting Our Community: Giving Tree

The holiday season is a time for giving, gratitude, and coming together as a community. This year, we are proud to continue the tradition with the Freedom Festival Giving Tree, benefitting the Freedom Foundation and their ongoing efforts to support local veterans.

The Freedom Foundation’s pantry becomes a vital resource for individuals who rely on its shelves for daily essentials. From canned goods and pantry staples to household items and personal care products, these contributions provide comfort and stability to those who have sacrificed so much for our country. The Giving Tree helps ensure their pantry stays well-stocked heading into winter.

How the Giving Tree Works

Visitors and community members are encouraged to stop by the Giving Tree, select a tag, and donate the listed item(s). Each tag represents something the pantry is in need of, making it easy for donors to contribute exactly what will make the biggest impact. Whether you’re grabbing an extra box of pasta during your weekly grocery run or filling a bag with essentials, every donation helps create a stronger, more supported community. You can find the Giving Tree right outside our office inside the Veterans Memorial Building downtown Cedar Rapids.

Why Your Support Matters

The Freedom Foundation serves veterans and their families year-round, providing meals, transitional support, and a welcoming place for anyone who needs it. By helping fill their pantry, you’re doing more than providing food, you’re offering hope, stability, and a reminder that of our community’s gratitude to those who have served.
